The use of leading lines
Leading lines can play of big role on helping the viewer focus on the area you want them to look at. The use of leading lines can offer direction giving the viewer a path to focus on.
According to the author Nicole Woods, "Leading lines also serve the purpose of directing the viewer to the field you want him or her to look at. Leading lines can take any form: straight, curved, diagonal--as long as the landing line offers direction, any line (or pattern) can be used.(Wood 27)"
In this quote Woods explains that leading lines no matter how they look direct the viewer to the area that you want them to focus on. This is also called the focal point, which she explains on page 36. On page 36 Woods has said, "...a focal point is something that your eyes cannot let go of. (Wood 36)"
The use of leading lines can help the viewer focus in more on the focal point and the main thing you wanted to capture. With the help of leading lines the focal point is easier to see and it make it harder for you to let go of.
How do you think leading lines helped this picture?
