Tangling for Beginners - roxi

The third design taught in "The Art of Tangling", written by Walter Foster, is titled roxi. Roxi makes a good border. It is quick and easy, nothing outrageous.  Roxi is fun to draw because it never has to be the same, you can put your own twist on it, like in many tangling methods. "Roxi is fun to experiment with because you can create endless variations" adds Foster (19).

Roxi is fun because you can use it as a border around any design, or even just a homework assignment. I know I love to doodle (or play with something) while the teacher is talking, It's nice because you can work it around your homework page and it doesn't get in the way. Roxi also makes your paper more pretty :). "When I am in meetings, I fing myself adding this pattern to my notes." agrees Foster (18).

To begin drawing a roxi pattern, you draw a small curved line, then an almond shape on top. Then all you have to do is repeat. Easy enough right? This is the simplest version of roxi. To make it more complicated, you can make designs on the almond shapes, making them more like beads.

Do you think you'll ever use this when needing to fidget while the teacher is talking?
