When you think of gardening you probably think of a vast green lawn and a flower bed filled with bright flowers. Although this is the ideal type of gardening, it's not for everyone. I love plants, whether it's a tree, shrub, succulent, or flower, I love them. To me, plants symbolize balance, something that I appreciate whilst juggling all my school work. But it's winter time and difficult to grow plants in the harsh weather and soil. Urban Gardening For Dummies offers multiple solutions for not having space or climate for plants to thrive. During a chapter on routine indoor plant care, Urban Gardening For Dummies says window sills are the perfect option because they offer natural sunlight, a high perch for the plant, and are out of the way" (Association). Givin the relaxing affect plants provide me, my three potted plants are located in my bedroom window sill. This works well because I am able to look at them often and they are high enough my cat cant eat them or tip them to the ground. Another tip Urban Gardening For Dummies gave was a framed garden. I will be completing that project in my next post.
Where are your indoor plants and what kind of plants do you have?
Thanks for reading and don't miss my framed garden tutorial next post!

I love plants too! My mom goes to the nursery too much.... We don't have enough counter space for the plants AND dinner. We have leafy plants (I don't know what they are..) that we put in the window sill as well. The whole family loves the plants, including the cats. Do you have any tips for keeping the plants safe from pets?
ReplyDeleteMy love for my cat and my love for plants often cause trouble. My cat has tipped over many of my pots which resulted in my giving him the silent treatment and having to recover my plants. I now tend to keep my plants that have dangling leaves out of sight from my cat in the kitchen window. With plants that I do not have the option I keep and spray bottle of water near to keep my cat at bay. Also, there's no such thing as going to the nursery too much:)
