Fishing Gear

Choosing the right equipment for the right task is something that is applicable to many subjects, including fishing. When it comes to fishing gear the right equipment has to do with what fish you will be trying to catch, as well as what conditions you will be fishing in. This statement is made by Jim  Arnosky the author of Hook Line and Seeker, "My fishing tackle includes a bait-casting outfit, spinning gear, and a fly rod and reel. which tackle I use depends on where im fishing and the fish I hope to catch" (Arnosky 12). The most popular method and the method I would recommend is spin casting, this is because of its ease of use and versatility. "Spinning tackle is used to fish with everything from live bait to artificial lures. with a light spinning outfit you can even cast a fly by attaching a clear floating bobber a few feet from the weightless fishing fly" (Arnosky 13).

I personally think that the true versatility in a spin rod comes from the simplicity of the design, and when it comes to starting something simplicity is a true virtue. also as trout fishing is one the most popular and most simplistic it really falls into the perfect type of fishing for beginners, and trout fishing with a spinning rod is a truly perfect combo.

Do you think that starting simple is the best way to start a new hobby or do you think starting with a more complicated process is the best way?
