- Rule of Space-
The rule of space is important to remember when taking the perfect picture.
When you are taking a picture the rule of space plays a big role. According to Nicole Woods on page 24," The rule of space will give the illusion of movement and it will also give the viewer a breathing space, especially if the photo is intense(Woods 24)." Breathing space around the picture gives the viewer something else to look at while being engaged in your picture.
Contradicting that over crowding causes the picture to be overwhelming and it may give the viewer a lot to focus on. This will also make it difficult for the viewer to understand what you were trying to capture. Nicole Woods has said in her book on page 24,"...Filling it up means that you have to maximize the space, leaving nothing that is senseless. You have to be careful though, filling the space is different from crowding the frame( Woods 24)." Over crowding your frame can cause mixed emotions about the picture and make it confusing for the viewer to take in.
How do you think the rule of space was used in this picture?
Is it like leaving space in the picture and not over-crowding it with things?
ReplyDeleteHi Thy-Tina! The rule of space is about leaving space around the things you want to be the main focus of the picture. You really have to be careful about not over crowding the frame and giving the viewer to much to look at.
