Normally lights are the biggest struggle when it come to putting things away, they become tangled and next year are a hassle to try and put up. A few years ago, I did some Pinterest surfing and saw a post on lights and storage. Instantly, I took the idea and ran with it. The trick was to use hangers and lay the lights around the hanger but not overlapping. This will make it easier for the next use.
The next tip I have is label your boxes and bins. My family always forgets this step and when Christmas roles around again, we seem to never be able to find tree lights or garland. the boxes this year were organized and prepared. I made sure to label the boxes simple like "tree lights" or even "mantle décor." This was easy work; all you really need is painters tape and a sharpie!
The final step was to put all Christmas/Holiday decorations in the same spot. My family normally has the crazy Holiday experience of going into the basement with a flashlight, opening bins and praying it's not Halloween. But finally, this year was different! I'm honestly so glad I chose organizing as to what I wanted to blog about because all I have to do is snap pictures while I organize on my regular bases.
I really hope this helps you guys wrap up the Holidays in three easy steps! They can seem hectic but there's always a way to make it simple and neat!
My question to you is: What is your favorite thing about the holidays?
Hi Taylor, i agree! Taking down decorations can get messy and stressful. I love the hangers and lights tip. Although my decorations are already down these steps will definitely help me for next year:)
ReplyDeleteTaylor, i love this. I love the holidays and decorating but when its time to take them down it gets stressful. I like the idea of labeling. I will try that next year so that i don't stress myself out.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you enjoy this! I love keeping everything in place and having boxes labeled really helps you in the long run! I hope when the holidays roll around again you keep with these tips!
